Nintendo and Illumination's upcoming animated Super Mario film has been delayed to April 2023!
Originally scheduled for release on December 21, 2022, the film will now premiere in North America on April 7, 2023, and in Japan on April 28, 2023.
Shigeru Miyamoto, Nintendo's Representative Director and co-producer of the project, took to Nintendo of America's Twitter account to announce the news and promise that it would be "well worth the wait."
This is Miyamoto. After consulting with Chris-san, my partner at Illumination on the Super Mario Bros. film, we decided to move the global release to Spring 2023–April 28 in Japan and April 7 in North America. My deepest apologies but I promise it will be well worth the wait.
