Manga artist Motoo Abiko, professionally known as Fujiko A. Fujio, has died at 88.
Fujio is known for works like Obake no Q-taro, created as part of the legendary mangaka duo Fujiko Fujio with Hiroshi Fujimoto (Fujiko F. Fujio), the creator of Doraemon. Fujimoto passed away at 62 in 1996.
As a solo author, Fujio went on to pen a sequel to the pair's Ninja Hattori series. He also created well-known franchises like The Laughing Salesman and Kaibutsu-kun.
