In the Feb. 22 edition of manga magazine Jump Giga, it was announced that Sorachi Hideaki's Gintama will continue through an official app.

Set in an alternate Edo period where aliens have invaded the earth, Gintama follows the adventures of samurai Sakata Gintoki and his friends Shinpachi and Kagura as they struggle to pay the rent.

Having run in Weekly Shonen Jump for 15 years, the manga was originally set to end in Sept. 2018 but ended up moving to Jump Giga. It has been adapted into a successful TV anime and two anime movies, as well as two live action movies and a live action webdrama.
